‘Bergers are craving an upset

It may be an unfamiliar line up, but we’re slowly learning more about what these new-look ‘Bergers are capable of.

It wasn’t easy heading to Altona Magic – but with everything seemingly going against them, there was no stopping the Heidelberg belief.

To achieve a thrilling draw whilst trailing 2-0 at half time – after fighting back to get it level despite playing with 10 men for the entire second half, it shows that these ‘Bergers are capable of anything. It’ll certainly give them increased confidence of pulling off a huge result.

Just as was the case in the last couple of weeks, a win won’t come easy. It’s another match on the road, against top of the table Green Gully, who fancy themselves for success this season – they are undefeated with two wins and a draw to start the season.

The ‘Bergers will be hoping that familiar names like Sean Ellis, Reuben Way, Chris Theodoridis and Adrian Zahra can all make it back after missing against Altona, adding to returnee Josh Wilkins last time out.

As the new recruits start to gel with their more seasoned team mates, ‘Berger fans can rest assured that it’s an exciting future with this squad.

The Round 4 NPL Victoria clash with Green Gully kicks off 8pm on Friday March 19 at Green Gully Reserve.
